Boca Raton has 27 advisory boards and committees that are comprised of 154 volunteer citizens. The board members and most commission members are appointed by the City Council. Most board members are required to be City voters and some boards require specific qualifications for members. The City Council also may form task forces or commissions that are charged with a specific task. These task forces or commissions are disbanded when their mission is accomplished.
Activities of the boards and committees are coordinated by the Board Coordinator in the City Clerk's Office. Questions regarding qualifications or requests for applications may be directed to the Clerk's office at (561) 393-7743.
