For disposal of hypodermic needles, call the Palm Beach County Health Department, South Center at (561) 274-3100. All household hazardous waste drop-off locations are self-service with the exception of the main collection center on North Jog Road in West Palm Beach, which is attended Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The Southwest County Transfer Station, located at 13400 S. State Road 7 (US 441), Delray Beach, accepts household hazardous waste Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m and on Saturdays, 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Call (866) 792-4636 for directions to the facility. You can also dispose of hazardous waste at the SWA’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center at 6161 N. Jog Road, West Palm Beach. For further information, visit their website at www.swa.org.
Used Motor Oil Drop-off Locations
The City of Boca Raton does not collect used motor oil for disposal or recycling.
In addition to the Southwest County Transfer Station, the following facilities located in Boca Raton will accept small quantities (up to 2 gallons) of used motor oil. The used motor oil must not be mixed with other substances or it will not be accepted. Call first for operating hours:

It is illegal to pour used motor oil into canals / waterways because of the threat to our water supply.
