The Boca Raton Police Services Department Citizen's Police Academy is
a law enforcement education program for local citizens and business
owners/operators that is intended to provide an accurate look at
police work and the criminal justice system.
The program spans an eleven week period, meeting once a week,
in the evening. It offers information and training in a variety of
subjects including patrol procedures, traffic enforcement, handgun
safety, K-9 unit, investigations, internal affairs, and crime
prevention/community related issues.
The academy is limited to 25 applicants.

The Boca Raton Police Services Department is now accepting applications for their upcoming Citizens Police Academy, scheduled to begin on Thursday, March 18, 2010 and will run through Thursday, May 20, 2010.
Courses will be held at the Police Administration/Training Center located at 6500 Congress Avenue each Thursday evening from 7:00pm – 9:00pm. This ten week course, which is free of charge, is aimed at building community partnerships with the police department as well as to create a better understanding of the services offered by the Boca Raton Police Department.
Topics range from Crime Scene Investigation, Identity Theft, Recruiting, Crime Prevention as well as demonstrations from our specialty units such as Dive, SWAT, Bomb and K-9 teams.
During the course you will also have an opportunity to schedule a “ride-a-long” with a police officer. Applications may be completed at the Boca Raton Police Department, City Hall, and Community Center or online.
