The Boca Raton Police Services Department has become aware of a number of burglaries to vehicles. Remember anything that is left in the passenger compartment of your vehicle is a potential target for thieves. Please keep in mind the following precautions:

• Always keep vehicles locked, even while pumping gas or parked in your driveway.
• Do not leave anything inside the car (money, cell phones, laptop computers, purses, wallets, briefcases, GPS units, etc.).
• If items must be left inside the car, lock the items in the trunk or some other locked compartment.
• Use car alarms and auto theft deterrent devices.
• Keep all exterior lighting on throughout the evening.
• Do not leave your keys in the vehicle, not even in your garage or parked in your driveway.
• Report any suspicious people or vehicles in your neighborhood to the Boca Raton Police Services Department immediately by calling 561-368-6201.
• For emergencies call 911
