Dive Team

Boca Raton - Dive TeamBoca Raton's Underwater Search and Recovery Team has won the 2005 Public Safety Divers Championship.

Sergeant Kevin Connard and Officer Kurt Brower won the entire event with a perfect score over four days of competition in Orange County.

In addition to the championship our team won the following medals:

 

  • 1st Place - Anchor Point Search - Officer John Brock and Investigator John Gelato
  • 1st Place - Grid Search - Sergeant Kevin Connard and Officer Kurt Brower
  • 1st Place - Auto Salvage - Officer Dave Rosenthal and Investigator Juan Pijuan
  • 1st Place - (novice division) - Grid Search - Officer Dave Rosenthal and Investigator Juan Pijuan


Special thanks to the entire staff at Meadows Park Pool for allowing the Dive Team to train there and Fire Rescue Staff at Station 1 for emergency tank fills and inspections.

 

EOD (Bomb) Team

Explosive Device Ordnance UnitThe EOD/Bomb Unit is responsible for handling any situation where a possible explosive device is located. They train fellow officers and assist the public in response to bomb threat situations.

The unit conducts bomb threat and post-blast investigations as well as investigations into any other explosive violations occurring with the City of Boca Raton and is utilized extensively for dignitary visits and special events.

 

 

 

 

 

Honor Guard

Honor GuardsThe Honor Guard represents the Boca Raton Police Department at memorials and social ceremonies, both locally and nationally. The Honor Guard presents the colors and demonstrates its proficiency with drill and ceremony.

 

 

 


 

 SWAT Team

Honor GuardsThe Boca Raton Police Department's SWAT Team is a 17-man unit specially trained to handle hostage/barricade incidents, violent felony warrants, apprehensions and high risk search warrants.


Team members possess specialized skills with firearms such as sniper rifles and submachine guns, chemical weapons, impact munitions, rappelling and distraction devices. Support personnel for the team include hostage negotiators and Fire Department Paramedics.
