Resident alerts police to burglars stealing appliances from vacant home
Boca Raton, FL – On Tuesday, September 27 at shortly after 11:15 a.m., a Boca Raton Police Tactical Team responded to a possible burglary at 201 NE 6th Court. The caller said two unknown males in a maroon truck appeared to have taken a washing machine from the residence.
When officers arrived they saw a maroon Chevrolet Suburban with a trailer attached parked to the rear of the residence. There was a washer and dryer inside the open trailer. Officers saw two males, later identified as Andrew Haynes and Delvin Davis, pushing a refrigerator through the rear yard apparently coming from the house.
Officers approached and spoke with both Haynes and Davis. Both men told officers they noticed the house had items piled in the rear of the residence and they thought it was abandoned. They both said they took the washer and dryer from a locked room in the carport. Although Haynes denied going into the residence, the dishwasher in the kitchen had been pulled out from the counter in the house.
Officers arrested and charged Haynes and Davis with burglary.
