Missing canoeist located unharmed

Boca Raton, FL – Sunday, November 6, Boca Raton Police received information that a canoe was overturned in the Intracoastal Waterway, behind 690 Golden Harbor Drive and the canoeist was nowhere to be found. An exhaustive search was conducted but the occupant was not located.

On Tuesday morning the Boca Raton Police Department received information that the canoeist, Kirt Rusenko, was safe. Rusenko came to the Police Department and identified the canoe. Rusenko told officers he was in the Intracoastal Waterway Sunday when a reckless boater sped by him, capsizing the canoe. Rusenko said he was unable to right the canoe so he swam to shore and left. Rusenko was very thankful and apologetic to everyone for their efforts
