Boca Raton Police beefs up patrols during the holidays
Buckle Up Florida's Click It or Ticket Holiday Mobilization
Boca Raton, FL Officers from the Boca Raton Police Services Department will be beefing up patrols through the holiday week, looking for motorists violating the State seatbelt law. The campaign runs from November 21st thru November 30th. Last year, Florida passed a primary safety belt law that allows law enforcement officers to pull over motorists that fail to buckle up.
In 2009, more than 13,000 lives were saved nationwide by seatbelts. Besides front seat passengers being required to wear safety belts, children under age three must be secured in a child restraint device, and children four and five years old must either be in a child restraint device or a safety belt. Passengers six to seventeen must be restrained by a safety belt in both the front and back seats of a vehicle.
