Boca Raton, FL - The Boca Raton Police Department is now accepting applications for our upcoming Citizens Police Academy (CPA). This 11-week program, which is free of charge and open to the public, begins Thursday, May 12, 2011 and will run through Thursday, July 21, 2011. Classes will be held each Thursday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at our training facility at 6500 Congress Avenue and the Police Station at 100 NW 2nd Avenue.
- Hands-on laser and radar demonstrations
- Use of Tasers
- Deployment of stop sticks, learning how cases get investigated including
- CSI techniques
- The K-9 program
- SWAT, Firearm and Bomb demonstrations
You will also learn about our latest technology, training, and what our officers do to serve you on a daily basis. Each student will be allowed one four-hour ride along session with a road patrol officer.
