Citizens Police Academy

Boca Raton, FL – The Boca Raton Police Department is now accepting applications for our upcoming Citizens Police Academy (CPA). This 11 week program is free and open to the public. Classes begin on Thursday, January 12, 2012 and run through Thursday, March 22, 2012. Classes are held on Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at our training facility at 6500 Congress Avenue and the Police Station at 100 NW 2nd Avenue.

Topics include:
• Hands-on laser and radar demonstrations.
• Use of Tasers and stop stick deployment.
• Learning how cases are investigated, including CSI techniques.
• The K9 program
• SWAT, firearms and bomb demonstrations.

You will also learn about our latest technology, training, and what our officers do to serve you on a daily basis. Each student will be allowed one four-hour ride along with a road patrol officer.

Applications will be accepted through Friday, January 6, 2012. The academy is limited to 25 people.
