Suspect seen wearing victim's stolen dress
Couple arrested for multiple burglaries
Boca Raton, FL – On Sunday, February 28th, officers from the Boca Raton Police Services Department investigated a burglary report at 470 NW 20th Street. The victims said that some time between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., the front door to their apartment was kicked in and electronics, clothing, and jewelry were stolen. The victim told officers that before the burglary, he saw a tall white male and a short white female in their building, asking for information about the main office.
On Tuesday, March 2nd, detectives spoke with the victim. He said that on Monday, he saw the same male and female who were in his building the day of the burglary, at a local gas station. The female was wearing his roomate's long green dress that was stolen during the burglary. The victim told detectives he followed the couple to a nearby apartment building, but lost sight of them when they went behind the building.
Detectives obtained video surveillance of the apartment building and observed a tall white male and a short white female forcing the door to the victim's apartment, entering it and then leaving about twenty minutes later. The investigation led detectives to the residence of Jeremy Mankoff and Kayla Riggar. Both Mankoff and Riggar were recognized by detectives as being the two suspects seen on the video surveillance footage. Mankoff was wearing what appeared to be the same shorts he was wearing on the video. Both suspects were arrested by detectives.
Detectives executed a search warrant on Mankoff and Riggar's apartment and discovered evidence linking them to several other burglaries. Both are charged with multiple counts of burglary, grand theft, and possession of a controlled substance.
