Four Broward teens charged with burglary
Boca Raton, FL – On Wednesday, June 12, at about 10:25 a.m., Boca Raton Police officers responded to a report of several suspicious males and a suspicious vehicle in the area of 300 SW 17th Street. The caller, who was working in the neighborhood, said the males were asking for directions and he observed two of the males coming out of a nearby backyard.
Arriving officers observed the suspect vehicle leaving the community and followed it. The driver of the vehicle committed several traffic infractions and was stopped. Officers made contact with the driver, Jaquan Johnson, and the three passengers, Givante Evans, Brandon Allen and Aquarian Moore. The officer immediately smelled the odor of marijuana emanating from the interior of the car. Officers searched the occupants and the car and found a small baggie of marijuana in Johnson’s shoe, the remains of a marijuana cigarette in the center cup holder, and a small amount of loose marijuana scattered throughout the car. Officers also found a pair of white socks in Johnson’s pocket and a lug wrench in the trunk of the car. All four teens gave officers differing accounts of why they were in Boca Raton.
Officers met with the caller and checked the house where he said he saw the males exiting the backyard. They found a rear patio screen which had been pried. The caller identified Allen and Moore as the males he saw coming out of the backyard.
Officers arrested the four teens and charged them with burglary, possession of burglary tools, loitering and prowling, and possession of marijuana. Evans is also on probation for robbery.
