Four teenagers arrested driving stolen car
Boca Raton, FL – On Tuesday, February 21, at about 1:15 in the morning, Boca Raton Police officers responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle driving in the area of 700 SW 5th Street. The caller told officers she saw a dark colored vehicle driving slowly through the neighborhood. The vehicle stopped, four males got out and ran east on SW 5th Street. A short time later, the males returned to the car and it drove away.
About a mile away, another officer saw a car matching the aforementioned description heading north on Military Trail. The officer pulled behind the car, a Cadillac STS, and upon checking the registration information, discovered it had been reported stolen in Broward County. The officer followed the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. The driver of the Cadillac took evasive action and drove into a nearby neighborhood, where the occupants abandoned the car in the roadway.
Multiple officers, including a K-9 officer and Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office deputies, saturated the area and located all four suspects hiding in a wooded area just north of Palmetto Park Road east of Military Trail. All four were arrested and charged with grand theft auto and resisting an officer. One of the suspecte, Zachary Lotierzo, was also charged with possession of marijuana, after a small bag of it was found in the front pocket of his shorts.
