Burglar identified through fingerprints
Boca Raton, FL – On December 6, 2013, Boca Raton Police officers responded to a report of a burglary to a vehicle at Juice and Java Café, 21316 St. Andrews Boulevard. The manager told officers that when she arrived at work she discovered the delivery van for the business had been broken into and vandalized. The interior of the van was ransacked and loose change was taken. The exterior of the van was scratched, dented, and several windows were broken.
The van was processed for evidence. Several latent fingerprints and dried blood were recovered from both inside and outside the van. On December 12, detectives were notified that one of the recovered prints was identified as belonging to Joseph Balliro. On Sunday, December 22, officers arrested Balliro on the charges of burglary to a conveyance and criminal mischief over $1,000.
