Woman who scammed elderly man arrested
Turns herself in hours after video shown on TV
Boca Raton, FL The crime happened on Saturday, April 2, (click here for story) when Junette Jean lied to the victim, thereby gaining access to his home. Once inside, she took his wallet which contained his identification and credit card. Jean then used the credit card at a Burlington Coat Factory in Boynton Beach, which was captured on surveillance video.
Last Wednesday, April 13, the surveillance video showing Junette Jean using the stolen credit card was released by the Boca Raton Police Services Department in an effort to locate her. Only a few hours after the video was shown on local television, Jean was arrested. She told investigators she saw herself on the news and turned herself in to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.
Jean is charged with burglary to an occupied dwelling, exploitation of an elderly person, and petty theft.
