Boca Raton Police Services Department to honor
Boca Raton, FL On Thursday, May 13, 2010, members of the Boca Raton Police Services Department will honor all officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice during the 2010 Peace Officers' Memorial Ceremony.
Mayor Susan Whelchel and Chief Dan Alexander will mark the occasion by laying a wreath in memory of officers who were killed in the line of duty, including 116 law enforcement officers killed in the United States last year. The National Anthem and God Bless America will be performed by the Coastman Chorus. The ceremony will also include the presentation of colors by the Boca Raton Police Services Department Honor Guard and a 21-gun salute by the Department's rifle team.
The ceremony will take place at the Boca Raton Police Services Department, 100 NW 2nd Avenue, in the front courtyard at 5:30 p.m. Thursday's ceremony coincides with National Police Week, May 9th to 15th, 2010.
