National Center for Missing & Exploited Children certifies the BRPD
The Department is the second agency in the state to receive certification
Boca Raton, FL The Boca Raton Police Services Department has completed the required steps to become a National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) 9-1-1 Call Center Partner. In doing so, the Department became the second in Florida to become certified. Demonstrating their commitment to protecting children through training and adoption of best practices in policies and procedures,the Boca RatonPolice Services Departmenthas enhanced its ability to respond to and investigate reports of missing, abducted, or exploited children.
By completing the Partner Program, theBoca RatonPolice Services Departmenthas created a child-centered 9-1-1 system, based on the belief that there is nothing more important to our community than protecting children, according to William Hinkle, NCMEC Call Center Program Executive Committee Chairman.
The Boca RatonPolice ServicesDepartment is one of a growing list of 9-1-1 call centers that have achieved this recognition. Recipients of this award have demonstrated a commitment to improving the response to reports of missing and exploited children in cities across the nation.NCMEC is encouraging all public-safety 911 call centers to become a partner in this initiative.
