Boca Raton Police arrest robbery suspect
Boca Raton, FL Detectives from the Boca Raton Police Services Department arrested the suspect wanted in connection with the robbery of a woman in the Publix parking lot at Regency Court off of Yamato Road. The incident occurred around 5:00 pm on Friday.
The victim says she was exiting Publix and approaching her car when she noticed a male leaning against the front quarter panel. Not knowing the person, she ignored him and quickly unlocked her car and tried to get in. The suspect, with his hand in his pocket, indicated he had a weapon and told the woman to give him all her money. The victim handed the suspect her purse and he walked north toward the Chevron station. A witness in his car pulled up to the woman and asked if she knew him. When she told him she was just robbed, the witness turned his car around and approached the suspect and asked what he was doing. The suspect quickly dropped the purse and fled on foot toward Yamato Road.
On Sunday, Detectives received word that a person matching the suspect's description was arrested by Delray Beach Police for the armed robbery of a Dunkin Donuts. Boca Raton investigators questioned the suspect at the Palm Beach County jail where the suspect admitted to the robbery in Boca Raton.
