Hostile customer nails salon owner with bottle of polish
Boca Raton, FL – On Monday, March 22, at shortly before 4:20 p.m., officers from the Boca Raton Police Services Department received a call from Kathy Walsh, who said she had just been assaulted by a black female customer at her salon, Today's Nails, 487 NE 20th Street.
Walsh told officers that three black females came into her salon. One female, later identified as Delmilove Delme, asked her how much it would cost and how long it would take, to have her fake nails removed. Walsh told her it would cost $5.00 and take twenty minutes. Delme offered $3.00 and wanted it done in five minutes, saying that's what she usually pays at another salon. Walsh told her to go to that salon, so Delme and her two friends left the business.
About an hour later, Delme returned and showed Walsh her nails and said it cost $3.00 and took five minutes. She then said, “Don't have an attitude or I'll punch you in the face.” Walsh said, “Go ahead.” Delme swept everything off the counter, towards Walsh, grabbed several bottles of nail polish from a wall display, and threw them at her. One bottle of polish struck Walsh on the forehead. Delme's friends pulled her out of the store and all three left in a white SUV.
Walsh got a partial license plate number and gave it to police, who stopped the vehicle a few blocks away. A witness, who was in the salon, identified Delme as the suspect. Officers arrested and charged Delme with aggravated battery, vandalism to a business and disorderly conduct.
