Boca Raton Police to conduct DUI Enforcement Campaign
October 29 through November 1
Boca Raton, FL - The Boca Raton Police Services Department is participating in the 2010 Halloween weekend High Visibility Impaired Driving Enforcement campaign. Officers will increase patrols for the enforcement period of October 29 through November 1. National traffic studies show that increased patrols increase the perceived risk of apprehension, thereby reducing the number of impaired driving traffic crashes. Nighttime is an especially dangerous time to be on the road, and Halloween night is often one of the deadliest nights of the year for due to many impaired drivers.
To make this Halloween safe for everyone, make a plan before the festivities begin. Designate a sober driver, or call a sober friend or family member if you've had too much to drink. Remember, Halloween falls on a Sunday this year; so many partygoers will be out on the roadways Friday and Saturday as well. If you happen to see a drunk driver on the road, don't hesitate to call 911. You may save a life. The Boca Raton Police Services Department wishes everyone a safe and enjoyable Halloween.
