Mother leaves three children in car while getting

hair done

Boca Raton, FL Officers from the Boca Raton Police Services Department arrested a mother for leaving her three children alone in a car at a busy shopping area. The call came in shortly before 11:30 am from a security guard at East Coast Jewelry, 4251 North Federal Highway. The guard, David Glandon, was doing a routine security check in the parking lot when he saw three small children in a white Toyota minivan. Glandon immediately called Boca Raton Police.

Upon arrival, Officer John Cagno noticed the three children in the car. Officer Cagno asked the oldest girl, five years old, to unlock the door. Once the door was open, Officer Cagno asked the five year old girl about her mother's location. The girl said she was inside Luigi's Hair Salon getting a haircut. The five year old identified the other two children as her three year old brother and 10 month old sister. All three children were watching a DVD. The car was locked and the keys were in the ignition. The sunroof was open about 10 inches.

Officer Cagno stayed with the children until the mother, Ana Ceciilia Pazmino, returned nearly 20 minutes later. When asked by Officer Cagno why she left the children unattended in the car, she had no response. The children's father, Francisco Moreno arrived and took custody of the children.

Pazmino was charged with three counts of Child Neglect.
