Boca Police investigate strong arm robbery

Boca Raton, FL Detectives from the Boca Raton Police Services Department are investigating a robbery that occurred around 5:00 pm this afternoon. It took place in the Publix parking lot at Regency Court off of Yamato Road.

The victim says she was exiting Publix and approaching her car when she noticed a male leaning against the front quarter panel. Not knowing the person, she ignored him and quickly unlocked her car trying to get in. The suspect, with his hand in his pocket, indicated he had a weapon and told the woman to give him all her money. The victim handed the suspect her purse and he walked north toward the Chevron station. A witness in his car pulled up to the woman and asked if she knew him. When she told him she was just robbed, the witness turned his car around and approached the suspect and asked what he was doing. The suspect quickly dropped the purse and fled on foot toward Yamato Road.

He's described as a white male, 40-50 years old, approximately 5'10”-6'0” tall with a thin build. He had dark thick hair that could have possibly been a wig with grey on the sides. He was wearing a black jacket with a hood down, aviator glasses and dark pants.
