Man arrested after stabbing acquaintance
Boca Raton, FL On Tuesday, May 24 at shortly before 1:00 a.m., Boca Raton Police officers responded to the Boca Raton Regional Hospital emergency room to a report of a male patient with a small stab wound.
When officers arrived they met with the victim, Jason Jaigobin, who told them he was at the Hookah Hut, 2890 North Federal Highway, with his friend, Jesse Mustapha, earlier in the night. Jaigobin said at about 11:30 p.m., they were joined by an acquaintance, Jasneel Singh and another male known by the name of Skott Free, whose real name is Steven Goombs. All four men left the Hookah Hut just after midnight and went to Singh's car, where they listened to music and smoked marijuana. After about 20 minutes, Jaigobin, Mustapha, and Singh exited Singh's car and went over to Mustapha's car. As Singh extended his hand in an effort to shake Jaigobin's hand, Jaigobin, stabbed him with a small knife.
Mustapha brought Jaigobin to the hospital, where Jaigobin was treated for a non-life threatening wound to his abdomen. Both Jaigobin and Mustapha cooperated with detectives and provided the same account of the incident. Mustapha added that the only issue he could recall between the two happened last year at a fraternity party where Singh had accused Jaigobin of taking a bag of marijuana from him. Detectives also spoke with Goombs, who cooperated and provided the same story. Initially, detectives were not able to speak to Singh because he left the area.
At about 11:15 a.m., Boca Raton detectives received a phone call from Singh's lawyer who said Singh would turn himself into the police by the end of the day. Singh surrendered toBoca Raton police officers just before 4:00 p.m. He was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
