Suspicious person call results in arrests of three potential burglars
Boca Raton, FL – On Thursday, December 27, 2012 just before 3:00 p.m., Boca Raton Police officers responded to a report of a suspicious person in the 100 block of Palomino Circle. A resident heard an unknown male knocked on her front door and then saw a silver vehicle backed into her driveway and a male in her backyard.
Officers responding to the scene saw a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle travelling south on NW 2nd Avenue and after observing several traffic infractions, pulled the car over. The officer made contact with the driver, Kervensley Telusmar, front passenger, Evenson Morency, and rear passenger Gethro Jean. They immediately smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the interior of the car.
Officers found a clear plastic baggie, which contained three dozen Alprazolam pills in the pocket of a jacket Jean was wearing. They also found a window punch in Telusmar’s pocket. When officers searched the vehicle, they found a small amount of marijuana scattered on the floorboards of the car. They also found numerous tools, a glove, and some property inside the car, including a hat with a loss prevention security tag still attached, a Sony Playstation console, and two ball caps.
Morency admitted to officers that they were in Boca Raton to commit home burglaries. All three were charged with loitering and prowling, possession of marijuana, possession of burglary tools. Jean was also charged with possession of a Schedule IV substance. Telusmar was arrested in May after stealing a woman’s purse from her shopping cart at Whole Foods.
