Tac team arrests three
Boca Raton, FL – On Friday, September 21, at about 9:00 a.m., members of the Boca Raton Police Department’s Tactical Team, were on routine patrol in the area of Palmetto Park Road and I-95, when they observed a Honda Accord, with dark tinted windows and a broken brake light cover. Officers followed the vehicle as it drove through several residential neighborhoods. The vehicle then headed back to I-95, where officers pulled it over.
They made contact with the driver, Sabrina Williams, the front passenger, Karisha Beckett, and the rear passenger, James Thomas. After checking to make sure Williams’ driver’s license was valid, the officer observed a partially smoked marijuana joint on the floorboard between the driver’s seat and door. When officers searched the vehicle they found more loose marijuana on the front passenger floorboard. On the rear passenger seat next to Thomas, officers found a small zip lock bag that contained three capsules containing MDMA. Officers also found a Georgia driver’s license and two credit cards in the headliner, which had been stolen from an auto burglary in Georgia, jewelry and drawers from a jewelry box and a spring loaded window punch in the center console and gloves under the front seat.
Officers arrested all three. Thomas told officers he had used the window punch in a residential burglary on 9/14 in the City and showed them the house. Officers charged Williams and Beckett with possession of burglary tools, possession of marijuana, and theft for being in possession of the stolen ID and credit cards. Thomas was charged with possession of MDMA and possession of burglary tools.
