Boca Raton Police Tac Team breaks up drug deal
Cash and various drugs seized
Boca Raton, FL – On Tuesday, September 4, 2012, members of the Boca Raton Police Tac Team were conducting surveillance in the parking lot of the Chevron gas station, 801 West Yamato Road, when they observed the occupants of two cars in close proximity to each conduct some sort of hand to hand transaction. After both parties returned to their cars, one left the area and one parked in an empty parking space. While approaching the vehicle, officers noticed two syringes, two metal spoons with a liquid in them.
Upon questioning, both Paige McMullen and Raffaele Carnevale admitted to just purchasing two hydromorphone pills from the car that just pulled out of the parking lot. They both said once the pill was dissolved in the liquid they were going to shoot the drugs into their arms.
Meanwhile, another undercover Tac Team member followed the other car out of the parking lot onto Congress Avenue then West on Yamato Road. Since both occupants, Peterson Metelus and Ketaurra Williams, were not wearing their seatbelts a traffic stop was conducted. As they were pulling over, officers noticed the passenger throw something out the window. Officers were able to recovered two marijuana cigarettes from the ground in the same area. During the interaction, the car was searched and officers turned up more than $2,000 in cash along with various illegal drugs, including cocaine.
As a result, Paige McMullen and Raffaele Carnevale were charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Peterson Metelus and Ketaurra Williams were charged with Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, Tampering with Physical Evidence and the Sale of a Controlled Substance within 1,000 feet of a Church.
