Savvy resident thwarts potential break in
Boca Raton, FL – On Monday, June 3, 2013 at about 11:30 a.m., Boca Raton Police officers responded to a suspicious incident in the 200 block of NW 9th Avenue. The resident called police when she saw a male, wearing a delivery type uniform, get out of the back seat of a grey SUV, knock on her door, and then look into her windows.
As officers arrived in the area, they saw the SUV back out of the driveway and head south on NW 9th Avenue. The officer gave the Florida tag number to the dispatcher and was told the tag was stolen. Officers stopped the SUV and made contact with the driver, Vincena Osborne, front passenger, Xavier Muff, and rear passenger Michael Edwards. Officers discovered the SUV was also reported stolen.
Officers checked the exterior of the residence and found both fence gates open, although the resident said they are always closed.
Officers arrested all three and charged Osborne with grand theft auto and possession of a stolen tag. Muff and Edwards were charged with trespass of a conveyance. Edwards also had an outstanding warrant for burglary.
