Tactical Team arrests three, fourth charged
Boca Raton, FL – On Thursday, September 27, at about 4:00 p.m., members of the Boca Raton Police Department’s Tactical Team were on routine patrol in the area of Glades Road and Interstate 95 when they observed a gold Toyota Camry rental car with exceptionally dark tint on the windows, a common feature of cars used by burglars.
A male, later identified as Benoit Pasteur, walked out of the gas station and got into the backseat of the Camry. The driver then drove to a nearby restaurant. Pasteur went into the restaurant then came out a few minutes later. Another male came out of the restaurant and also got into the backseat of the Camry. The driver left the parking lot, failing to stop before entering NW 19th Street. Officers followed the vehicle and tried to stop it before it got onto I-95, but the driver refused to stop. Officers followed the vehicle until it exited I-95 onto Linton Boulevard. The driver of the Camry went west then entered a plaza on Congress Avenue, where all four occupants ran from the vehicle. Officers apprehended Pasteur, Wanto Jerome, the driver, and Vaguet Louis. The fourth person got away, but was identified as Louivenson Saint Riel.
Officers searched the car and found a plastic baggie on the rear passenger floor which contained 2.1 grams of cocaine. A small amount of marijuana wrapped in a receipt was found in a compartment near the driver’s seat. An Acer Touch Pad was found on the floor near the front passenger seat. When officers searched Jerome, they found a baggie in his pocket that contained 51 Xanax pills. Officers were unable to determine who owns the Touch Pad.
All three were placed under arrest. They were all charged with possession of cocaine and resisting arrest. Jerome was also charged with possession of Xanex, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, fleeing and eluding and driving with a suspended license. Charges will be filed on Louivenson.
