Tactical team arrest two for possession
Boca Raton, FL – On Tuesday, September 4, 2012, members of the Boca Raton Police Department’s Tactical Team were conducting surveillance in several plaza’s throughout the City, including Palmetto Park Square, 1401 West Palmetto Park Road , and the Chevron gas station, 801 West Yamato Road.
At about 1:20 p.m., officers stopped a white Chevrolet Impala and a beige Chevrolet Impala on Palmetto Park Road after they left Palmetto Park Square. The cars had been seen in the plaza together and were both registered to the same owner, Shelida Perez. Perez, the driver of the beige Impala, consented to a search of her car and officers were able to recover marijuana from the driver’s side floorboard. Perez was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. The driver of the second car was issued a traffic infraction for failing to stop before making a right turn.
Later that same day, officers saw a white Chrysler in the parking lot of the Chevron with a Florida license plate was expired for more than a year. The driver, Adam Flint, had a suspended driver’s license that had been suspended over a dozen times previously. He had also been deemed a habitual traffic violator by the State of Florida. Officers smelled a strong odor of marijuana emanating from inside the car . When officers searched the car they found a cigarette pack which contained a small amount of marijuana. Flint was arrested for possession of marijuana and for being a habitual traffic violator.
