Boca Raton, FL – On Monday, February 22nd at about 3:35 a.m. officers from the Boca Raton Police Services Department responded to a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred at Walgreens, 1001 SW 2nd Avenue.

When officers arrived, they met with two employees, David Crompton and Victor Cigarroa.  Crompton told officers that at about 3:25 a.m. he saw a black male pushing a shopping cart, enter the store.  The male told Crompton, to raise his hands and come to the front of the store.  As they walked towards the office, they saw Cigarroa and the suspect told him to come to the front of the store, too.  The suspect then pointed a black, semi-automatic handgun at them and demanded they take him to the safe.

Once inside the office, the suspect ordered Cigarroa to kneel down, face away from him, and then bound his hands.  The suspect then ordered Crompton to open the safe and to empty the contents into a bag he had brought with him.  The suspect then ordered Crompton lay face down on the floor, where he tied his hands and feet.  The suspect then walked out of the store through the front door.  Neither Cigarroa nor Crompton was physically injured.  An undetermined amount of cash was taken.

If anyone has information about this crime, they are asked to call Detective Scott Hanley at (561) 338-1344 or Palm Beach County Crime Stoppers at (800) 458-TIPS.
