Watch out for that
Boca Raton, FL A man from Jacksonville Beach, Florida is lucky to be alive after horsing around nearly took his life. 26-year-old John Ruger is recovering at Delray Medical Center after being knocked out of the sunroof of a moving SUV.
It happened around 2:30 am on Friday, March 26. That's when a car, driven by 28-year-old Bret Douglas, of Boca Raton, had returned to the parking garage at 233 South Federal Highway after drinking at the Wishing Well, 111 Southeast Mizner Boulevard. Ruger, who was in the back seat of Douglas' 2009 BMW SUV, decided to standup on the center console through the sunroof while the vehicle was still moving. As Ruger turned from the first level of the garage to the second level, the ceiling height drops to just over seven feet. That's when Ruger's head came in contact with a cement beam knocking him out of the SUV to the ground below.
Ruger was rushed to Delray Medical Center where he is being treated for serious injuries. The driver of the SUV, Douglas, and another passenger in the car, 27 year old John Preston of Boca Raton, were not injured. The investigation is ongoing and charges may be pending.
