Vandals attack area water pipes
Boca Raton, FL On Saturday, November 27, at 6:26 a.m., officers with the Boca Raton Police Services Department received the first of many reports in which water pipes were damaged. The first report was in the area of 1500 NW 1st Court, where there were several water pipes on the swale that were spraying water.
Throughout the weekend and into Monday, more incidents of vandalism to water pipes were reported. Many of the damaged pipes were on City property. However, several additional incidents occurred on private property, including some businesses. City of Boca Raton Utility Services and Fire Rescue Services Department employees located numerous broken pipes and assisted in shutting off the water.
The crimes occurred in the areas of NW 20th Street and NW 2nd Avenue, 2600-2700 blocks of North Federal Highway, 1500-1900 NW 1st Court, the area of 123 NW 13th Street, 1000 block of NW 1st Avenue, and two locations on Dixie Highway, south of Glades Road.
