Gunmen rob Wendy's employees

Boca Raton, FL Earlier this morning at about 1:26 a.m., officers from the Boca Raton Police Services Department responded to a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred at the Wendy's Restaurant, 861 West Yamato Road.

When officers arrived they met with three employees. The employees told officers they left the restaurant at about 1:20 a.m. and locked the door behind them. After exiting, they saw two black males emerge from behind a parked car which was in the east parking lot near the hedges. The two suspects were dressed in dark clothing, wearing ski masks, and brandishing pistols. The suspects approached the victims, ordered them to turn over their wallets and cell phones, and forced them back inside the restaurant.

Once inside the store, the suspects ordered the employees into the office and demanded they open the safe. One suspect became impatient and as he pulled on the handle to the safe, the restaurant's alarm sounded. The suspects told the employees to stay in the office and they exited the restaurant through the east door.

The suspects may have left in a silver or grey SUV, heading towards Yamato Road. If anyone has information about this crime, they are asked to call Detective Juan Carlos Pijuan at (561) 338-1387 or Palm Beach County Crime Stoppers at (800) 458-TIPS.
