Robber climbs wrong balcony
Admits to victim he made mistake

Boca Raton, FL – On Sunday, December 30, shortly before 4:30 a.m., Boca Raton Police officers responded to a home invasion robbery at a second floor apartment on 638 NW 13th Street.

The victim told officers he was asleep when he heard the slider to his balcony open. An unknown male pointed a handgun at his face and demanded, “Where is my weed?” The victim told the suspect he did not have any marijuana. The suspect forced the victim to lay face down on the floor and then proceeded to search the room. When the victim turned his head to look at the suspect, the suspect punched him in the face, and again demanded the “weed.”

The victim repeated that he did not have any marijuana, but if the suspect wanted cash, his wallet was in jeans. At this point, the suspect apparently realized he was in the wrong apartment and asked if he knew a male named “Wilson?” The suspect then said someone stole his weed and kept repeating, “Oh man, I came to the wrong house.” The suspect took the victim’s cash and left through the front door.

The victim described the suspect as a black male, about 6’ tall, slim build, wearing all black clothing, gloves and a white cloth covering the lower part of his face. The victim was not injured.

If anyone has information about this crime, they are asked to call Detective Jeff Stepp at (561) 620-6196 or Palm Beach County Crime Stoppers at (800) 458-TIPS.
